Dr. Larry Lucas and his wife Teresa are both P.K.’s (pastor’s kids) and love serving at Cross Timbers Bible Church. Dr. Larry wants people to feel like they have “come home” beginning with their first visit to CTBC. Larry and Teresa have four children and six grandchildren, and a new Boxer puppy called Roxy.

Pastor Larry has a keen interest in helping people become Christ followers, helping them to find spiritual family, friendships, strong families, and authentic spiritual growth in the church. He has an unwavering commitment to expository preaching and helping people learn the Word and how to apply it to life. You will find Pastor Larry to be an intellectually curious person with a broad range of interests including, but not limited to, church history; history of the ancient near east; linguistics and languages; philosophical hermeneutics; theories of knowledge and interpretation; specialized biblical and theological studies; shooting sports; leatherworking; woodworking; racing pigeons (no, we are not kidding!); how to cook healthy (while longing for chili or steak), and the art of how to get out of implementing the onerous “honey do” list.

Pastor Larry attended Evangelical Christian College; Mesa College; University of Minnesota; Western Baptist Seminary; Southwestern Baptist Seminary; California Graduate School of Theology; Dallas Theological Seminary, and did post-graduate research at the Vrije Univeriteit te Amsterdam in the Netherlands, and at the Universität München, Germany. He holds earned B.A., M.Div., Th.M. and Ph.D. degrees.  He has served in a number of large, medium and small churches; taught in colleges and graduate schools. His interests continue to grow as research continues.

Dr. Larry and Teresa would welcome the opportunity to meet you at Cross Timbers Bible Church.

Director of Music and Worship

Jesse Wood

Jesse first visited Cross Timbers in 2015 alongside his wife of 15 years, Aubyn, as a guest worship leader. After only a few visits, Jesse and Aubyn knew God was calling them to partner with Cross Timbers in ministry. They and their children, Melody, Temperence, and JoyAnna have called Cross Timbers home ever since.

Jesse enjoys fishing, camping, hiking, extreme sports, serving others, and all things "music". He receives the greatest joy, however, from worshipping the Lord through music and helping people grow in their relationship with Christ through honest, Christ-centered worship that is tempered by the Spirit, grounded in the truth of the Word of God, and enables people to experience God in a powerful way, regardless of where they are in their walk.

Jesse is a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary's School of Church Music where he earned his Bachelor of Music in Worship Studies.
